The time has come! The wedding day is only a couple of days away. The wedding plans are perfectly in place. And now is the moment to celebrate this joyous occasion with a rehearsal dinner. The rehearsal dinner is typically held a day or two before the actual wedding ceremony. The dinner brings on a last minute opportunity to relax, talk and de-stress from all of the planning that has taken place. It is a time for everyone to raise their glass and give a toast of cheer! And it is a time to enjoy each other’s company in a relaxed atmosphere. And it is a time for the bride and the groom to present their gifts to the wedding party and to show their appreciation.
The rehearsal dinner is called just that because it is the dinner that follows the rehearsal of the wedding ceremony. About a day or two before the wedding date, the bride, the groom and the wedding party come together at the church where the ceremony will be held. Everyone has a duty to fulfill; whether it’s seating the mother of the bride, holding the rings, or signing as a witness. And it is important for everyone to come together and practice the procession and the ceremony. Because, as they say, practice makes perfect! And you want to make sure to iron out all of the kinks before the actual day!
Once the ceremony has ended, the wedding party will transport to the destination of the rehearsal dinner. This brings on the opportunity to enjoy some time with those closest to you in a casual atmosphere.
The rehearsal dinner invitations that you choose to send out will set the tone for the event. You may select an elegant design to bring on a formal dinner at a favorite restaurant. Or maybe you are planning a seafood fest? This invitation is great for inviting guests to a local seafood dive! You may choose to host a Fiesta and send out invitations with a Mexican theme. Another great idea is to evoke some country charm and send out invitations for a supper with a bit of down home flair!
As you can see, anything goes for a rehearsal dinner! And it is the rehearsal dinner invitations that portray the theme of the evening. Guests will know how to dress for the occasion; and they will be enticed to special evening of celebration. The most important thing to remember when planning a wedding rehearsal dinner is to keep it simple. After all, the rehearsal dinner is the opportunity to give a final toast in a relaxed atmosphere before the bride and the groom say “I DO!”
